The Marine Policy Center (MPC) conducts social scientific research that integrates economics, policy
analysis, and law with the Institution’s basic research in ocean sciences.
Areas of recent research include:
While MPC’s research is based in rigorous academic
disciplines, much of it is applied in nature and motivated by current
issues in marine resource management and marine industries.
- nutrient pollution of coastal waters
- the economics of ocean observing systems
- offshore wind power
- international fisheries management.
