LIPS Steerable Thrusters

WHOI request bids for overhauling of 2 LIPS Steerable Thrusters of model FS 2500-450.  Tech reps to attend North West USA shipyard to oversee removals and reinstallation.  Bidder to arrange all transport to and from shipyard including all customs fees if applicable.  Bidder to have long term track record in overhauling with expertise of Z-Drive Thrusters – 2 units in total to receive complete overhaul.  Bidder to have track record working with US Navy or USCG assets.  WHOI will provide all required parts for the overhauls of an approx. $500k value.  Performance period to begin after docking on 4 August to be coordinated with shipyard and drives to be fully completed and returned to the yard within 14 weeks.  All works to be done in accordance with ABS rules

Kongsberg Ocean Sciences EK80 Wide Band Transceiver (WBT) System. Includes processor, WBTs, Transducers and mounting rings.

26 1 SAT

SAT includes up to three (3) days at sea with calibration of EK80 WBTs under CW mode (under single pulse width and power) and noise test. Includes shipping of calibration equipment. Acceptance report sign off.

Atlantis Mid-Life Refit

The Research Vessel Atlantis, operated by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and owned by the US Navy, will undergo a Mid-life Refit starting in June, 2020 to take place in a US shipyard. The Refit will upgrade the ship’s propulsion, navigation, HVAC, auxiliary and habitability systems, and overhaul two z-drive units, as well as, performing standard maintenance tasks such as bottom and hull blasting and painting, and regulatory inspections. It is anticipated that the yard period of work will be approximately 10 months. to include all test, commissioning and sea trials.

Interested contractors may request a pre-bid qualification questionnaire, and must respond by April 29, 2019.   Qualified contractors will receive an RFP on or about May 20, 2019 with a bidder’s conference and ship check being performed in Newport, OR May 30-31, 2019.  Contact Sandy Sherlock at ssherlock@whoi.edu for the pre-bid questionnaire.

Construction Management Services/New Quissett Facility

CSL Consulting, LLC has been retained by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) as Owner’s Representative for the Project. On behalf of WHOI, we cordially invite you to submit a proposal for construction management services on the proposed New Quissett Facility (NQF) within WHOI’s Quissett Campus. WHOI will enter into a contract with the CM for the Project, and will have all legal authority concerning the Project. CSL will be responsible in advising WHOI throughout the Project.
