A History of WHOI's Oil Spill Research Around the World

For more than 40 years, WHOI researchers have studied oil spills around the world and in many geographic settings. Just as every oil spill is different, their efforts have focused on a wide range of topics and questions related to the impact and fate of oil in the marine environment. In many instances, their efforts are also helping make oil production and transportation safer.
