Obituaries
The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution has received word of the death March 22, 2002, of former seaman Thomas F. O’Neil of Hull. He was 77. Tom joined the Institution staff in October 1970 as an able bodied seaman aboard Research Vessel Knorr and left the Institution in November 1980. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to Irish Mossing and Maritime Museum, 43 Cudworth Road, Scituate, MA 02066.

Geoff joined the Institution in 1951 as a research assistant in the Physical Oceanography Department working on the calibration and maintenance of deep sea reversing thermometers.. He retired in 1981 but continued to service thermometers for WHOI on a casual basis. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Further details will be posted as available.
