The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution announces with great sorrow the death April 12, 2003 of Honorary Trustee and Honorary Member of the Corporation Cecil H. Green. He died in La Jolla, CA, of pneumonia at age 102.

Al began working at the Institution in 1952 as a research assistant for Allyn Vine in ocean engineering. He retired in 1987 but continued on a casual basis as a research specialist until 1997. Tom joined the Institution staff in October 1970 as an able bodied seaman aboard Research Vessel Knorr and left the Institution in November 1980. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to Irish Mossing and Maritime Museum, 43 Cudworth Road, Scituate, MA 02066.
