Steven J. Poore

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution announces with great sorrow the death March 2, 2001 of Steven J. Poore of Sagamore, MA, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a long illness. He was 46.

Steven J. Poore was born January 19, 1955 in Roswell, NM, and lived in Kansas, Japan, Minnesota and Massachusetts as a child. He graduated from the Upper Cape Cod Regional Vocational Technical School in Bourne.

A licensed electrician, Steve joined the Institution staff in April 1985. He became disabled from severe injuries suffered in an automobile accident in August 1987.

Survivors include his parents, Edward and Clara Poore, of Florida; one brother, Edward D. Poore; an aunt, nephew and niece, and two cousins.

A memorial mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. March 17, 2001, at St. Theresa¹s Church in Sagamore. Burial is private.
