Richard J. Breivogel

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution has received word of the death
August 21, 2007 of retiree Richard J.  Breivogel, Jr. in Falmouth
after a short illness.  He was 86.

Richard began working at the Institution in 1972 as a painter.  He
then transferred to the Facilities Department where he retired in 1986.

He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Falmouth for over 60 years
and was elected several times its Noble Grand. He enjoyed the outdoors
and fishing, and in his youth he loved to sail, he also taught tennis
at Menauhant Yacht Club.

Richard was the husband of Barbara (Brooks) Breivogel, who died in
1987. He is survived by three sons; Daniel Breivogel of Feeding Hills,
MA; Carl and Kenneth Breivogel both of Falmouth; a daughter Marjorie
Fulp of Oak Bluffs, MA;  one brother Robert Breivogel of Falmouth;
four grandchildren and 12 nieces and nephews. He was brother of the
late Claire Wessner.

Visiting hours will be Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. in Chapman, Cole &
Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main St. , Falmouth Center. A funeral
procession will gather at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. on Monday,
August. 27, with a graveside service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Oak
Grove Cemetery, Falmouth.
