Lidia K. Williams Van Beeck

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution announces with great sorrow the death of former employee Lidia K. Williams Van Beeck on December 13, at Tobey Hospital in Wareham, Mass. She was 38.

Lidia began her career at WHOI in 2007 as a senior administrative assistant under Andy Bowen. In 2008, she was reassigned as an engineer II working under Don Peters.  She left WHOI in 2012.

After leaving WHOI, Lidia worked as a project control manager.

Lidia enjoyed walking her two rescue dogs in the woods all over the Cape, golfing, spending time at the beach, and scuba diving.

She leaves her husband Christopher J. Van Beeck, her son, Francois Van Beeck, age two, a brother, Troy Milles of Dennis, and two sisters, Nicole Milles and Trisha Nilsson, both of Mashpee, Mass.

Private funeral services are by the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, Mass.
