Lee Waterman

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution has received word of the death of former employee Lee Waterman on August 21, 2008 in Buckfield, Maine.  He was 78.

Lee graduated from Antioch College in 1959.  He began working at the Institution in 1970 as the coordinator for ocean industry programs in the chemistry department. He left the Institution in 1977 as a research associate in the chemistry department.  Prior to his work at WHOI he was a consultant at Scripps Institution of Oceanography in the Deep Sea Drilling Project.
 
Lee was a member of the American Chemical Society, American Geophysical Union and the Geochemical Society.
