Katrina Reniska

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution announces with great sorrow the death of retiree Katrina Reniska on May 3 in Honolulu, Hawaii.  She was 63.

Katrina was a graduate of Rollins College (BA) and Harvard University (MA).

Katrina began her career at WHOI in 2010 as director of Major Gifts until 2015.  She was rehired as a casual employee in 2015 for a short time and left in December of 2015.  Prior to working at WHOI, she worked at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School.

Katrina had recently retired and enjoyed golf and traveling.

She is survived by her husband of 15 years Kim Reniska, her brothers, William Heffernan, Peter Heffernan, sister Kerri Heffernan, sister in-law Nancy Barnett and their children William and Macey Barnett.

Instead of sending flowers, Katrina would have preferred that you make a donation to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

A private memorial service will be held later in the summer.
