Arthur Peterson

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution announces with great sorrow the death of retiree Arthur Peterson on November 13, 2013 at his home with his family.  He was 86.

Arthur was born at home on Dillingham Avenue and was a lifetime resident of Falmouth. He was the son of the late Arthur and Eunice (Harris) Peterson. He began working with his dad at an early age and built many homes in Falmouth. He was employed at V&V Construction.

Arthur began his career at as a Carpenter in 1983. He was promoted to Senior Carpenter in 1989 and retired on 1994.

He was a member of the Falmouth Elks Lodge, the Midway Trap & Skeet Club, and the National Guard.

He was the husband of the late Teresa (Lally) Peterson. Arthur was also the father of seven children; Arthur Peterson Jr., Gail Pantel, Mark Peterson, Heidi Larson, Eric Peterson, Joseph Peterson, and the late Kathleen Peterson.. He was the brother of Eunice Markowski, Mary Ann Miller, Gayle Barboza, Nancy Bond, Edward Peterson, Roy Peterson, Bruce Peterson, and the late Olive Woodruff, Norma Ross, Patricia Beauchemin, Peter Peterson, Jack Peterson, and David Peterson. He was the grandfather of 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at 9:30 a.m., on Saturday, November 23, at Chapman, Cole and Gleason, 475 Main Street, Falmouth, Mass.
