Anthony “Tony” Mendousa

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution announces with great sorrow the death of retiree Anthony “Tony” Mendousa on January 25, in Orleans, MA.  He was 87.

Tony began his career at WHOI in 1971 as a maintenance mechanic.  In 1977, he was promoted to plant mechanic.  He retired in 1989.

Tony was the beloved husband of 66 years to Tina Guglietta and lovingly survived by son Anthony F. Mendousa and daughter Andrea (Mendousa) Priest and her husband Edward Priest. Loving grandfather to Gabriella Priest and Christopher Priest.  He was was one of seven children including a twin sister.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 16, at 2:00 p.m., at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Middleboro, 25 South Main Street, Middleboro. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Hope Hospice, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA, 02601.

A celebration of Tony’s life will be held in Middleboro on Saturday, February 16, at 2:00 p.m., at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Middleboro, 25 South Main Street, Middleboro, MA.  The church is handicap accessible.
