Postdoctoral Scholar Alice Ren

Alice Ren, Postdoctoral Scholar, joins WHOI’s PO Department.  Alice earned her PhD from Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California San Diego.  Alice’s research interests are ocean glider observations, GFD, climate variability and change, and dissolved oxygen measurements.  Currently, Alice is working with Dr. Robert Todd on glider observations of the Gulf Stream.  Alice will also be working with Dr. Roo Nicholson and Dr. Todd on dissolved oxygen observations.  In her spare time, Alice plays the piano (classical).  She is into ball sports – before she moved, she played a lot of tennis and pickleball.  She plans to play summer softball at WHOI and also sometimes plays soccer and basketball.  Alice is originally from the suburbs of  Boston and is glad to be back!
