Welcome Postdoctoral Investigator Leo Middleton

Leo Middleton, Postdoctoral Investigator, joins WHOI’s PO Department.  Leo earned his PhD from the University of Cambridge / British Antarctic Survey.  Leo’s research interests are ocean mixing, turbulence, double diffusion, polar oceans and submesoscale dynamics.  Leo is currently working with Amala Mahadevan as part of the CALYPSO project, researching the submesoscale subduction pathways for phytoplankton using observations and models.  In his free time, Leo enjoys outdoor swimming, playing music and hiking.
