Astrid Pacini, Postdoctoral Investigator, joins WHOI’s PO Department. Astrid recently earned her PhD through the MIT/WHOI Joint Program. Astrid’s research interests are high latitude processes, boundary current-interior interactions and water mass transformation. She is currently working with Bob Pickart to investigate the role of wind-forcing in the west Greenland boundary current system, and to understand the role of this synoptic-scale forcing on property fluxes to the interior Labrador Sea. She is interested in how these fluxes influence convection. In her spare time, Astrid likes to hike, bike, ski and get as muddy as possible in the outdoors.
