Spotlight on Administrative Associate Andrea Harvey

This month, we are spotlighting PO’s Andrea Harvey, who joined WHOI in 2016 as a buyer in the Procurement Department.  As a buyer, Andrea was able to get a broad view of the Institution and enjoyed meeting lots of fascinating people.  She enjoyed building relationships with people in the science departments while also learning about the business side of things from her mentors in Finance & Accounting.  When Andrea started working in the Mooring Lab in 2017, she was able to blend her interest in mooring operations with her interest in finance.  Andrea enjoys managing the purchasing and logistics that are involved in mooring fabrication and also enjoys the busy nature of the shop.  Andrea also works with Rick Trask on the NSF UNOLS Wire Pool Database.

In her spare time, Andrea loves knitting, knitting and more knitting; listening to her record collection; reading books about bands; and playing outside with her 2.5 year old son.
