Happy Hallow-Marine
October 31, 2017A pair of anemonefish (Amphiprion bicinctus) take shelter in a pumpkin-shaped sea anemone on a coral reef in the Red Sea. Despite their seemingly frightful home, anemonefish are immune to the stings of anemones and, in return for a safe place to live, sometimes protect their hosts from predators. Their symbiotic relationship is just one of many found among organisms in the ocean that turn an otherwise harsh and unforgiving environment into a comfortable home.
