Dynamic Graduate Students

July 30, 2017

Every summer since 1959, graduate students from around the world come to WHOI to participate in the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Fellowship program. They are joined by prominent oceanographers, physicists, and mathematicians to explore the large-scale motions of fluids in oceans and atmospheres on Earth or other planets. This year’s program focused on ice-ocean interactions. The 2017 GFD fellows are (from left on tree) Madelaine Gamble Rosevear (U. of Tasmania), Margaret Lindeman (Scripps), Thomasina Ball (U. of Cambridge), and Madeleine Youngs (MIT-WHOI); (from left, standing) Agostino Meroni (U. of Milan-Bicocca), Eric Hester (U. of Sidney), Robert Fajber (U. of Toronto), Jessica Kenigson (UC-Boulder), Earle Wilson (U. of Wash.), Guillaume Michel (Ecole Normal Superieure), and Federico Fuentes (UT-Austin).
