Clay flocculation
Senior Scientist Don Anderson and Postdoctoral Investigator Aishoa Li observe clay flocculation of a red tide culture. They are working on methods for using clay dispersed over a harmful algal bloom to remove red tide cells from the water column. The aggregation of cells and clay at the surface of the beaker will eventually fall to the bottom. (Tom Kleindist)
