Postdoctoral Scholar Roger Creel joins WHOI’s PO Department. Roger earned his PhD in Geophysics from Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory, Columbia University in New York. His research interests are sea level, ice sheets, permafrost, ocean circulation, coastal evolution, sedimentology, probabilistic methods and scalable open-source computing. Roger is currently working with Chris Piecuch and Caroline Ummenhofer to understand interactions between coastal sea level, river discharge, continental hydrology and large scale atmospheric dynamics over the last century. In his free time, Roger enjoys ballet, playing the accordion, cooking, long runs, hibiscus tea and letting himself watch bad action films on planes.
