March in the stormy North Atlantic observed from the bridge of the R/V Neil Armstrong during AR65

March in the stormy North Atlantic observed from the bridge of the R/V Neil Armstrong during AR65. The ship is steaming home to Woods Hole from Atlantis II in the New England Seamount Chain where 3 pressure-sensor equipped inverted echo sounders (PIESs) were deployed. The PIESs will be recovered in September. Wind gusts during AR65 reached to 50 knots, seas reached 20-25 feet, and the ship tilt reached 14 degrees. https://twitter.com/rv_neil/status/1509980865606008832  Photo credit: Magdalena Andres
