WOODS HOLE PUBLIC LIBRARY

May 20, 2022 @ 8:00 am - May 23, 2022 @ 12:00 am

The library is excited to offer a free virtual screening of the new documentary film Flannery over the weekend of May 20-23. The film is a lyrical, intimate exploration of the life and work of author Flannery O’Connor, whose distinctive Southern Gothic style influenced a generation of artists and activists. With her family home at Andalusia (the Georgia farm where she wrote her best-known work) as a backdrop, a picture of the woman behind her sharply aware, stark style comes into focus. Like the previous arrangements and grants the library has had, the 82-minute film will be available free of charge to the library’s people to view on their own anytime over the course of a weekend. The designated time will be noon Friday, May 20 through noon on Monday, May 23. Interested viewers should email the library at whpl_mail@clamsnet.org to register. An email with the screening link will be sent out to all registered viewers on Friday morning, May 20.
