May 20 @ 8:00 am - May 23 @ 12:00 am

The library is excited to offer a free virtual screening of the new documentary film Flannery over the weekend of May 20-23. The film is a lyrical, intimate exploration of the life and work of author Flannery O’Connor, whose distinctive Southern Gothic style influenced a generation of artists and activists. With her family home at Andalusia (the Georgia farm where she wrote her best-known work) as a backdrop, a picture of the woman behind her sharply aware, stark style comes into focus. Like the previous arrangements and grants the library has had, the 82-minute film will be available free of charge to the library’s people to view on their own anytime over the course of a weekend. The designated time will be noon Friday, May 20 through noon on Monday, May 23. Interested viewers should email the library at to register. An email with the screening link will be sent out to all registered viewers on Friday morning, May 20.
