WOODS HOLE FILM FESTIVAL (WHFF)

April 10, 2021 @ 7:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 7:00 pm, repeating until April 11, 2021

Is pleased to continue the 2021 season series “WHFF Virtual” with the award-winning feature drama TOPRAK. The festival will host a live online Q&A with the filmmakers on Saturday, April 10 at 7 p.m. The WHFF Virtual screening series will run through May 2021 and will present independent films and special live events hosted on its online streaming platform two weekends every month. Additional events may be added as well. Due to the pandemic, last summer the WHFF transitioned to an online screening presentation format as “WHFF Virtual.” Through hard work and staff dedication, the festival worked around the clock to deliver an eight-day event that presented 187 films from 25 different countries with films from every continent, including Antarctica. The festival offered over 70 hours of live events, including 28 Filmmaker Chats streamed live to Facebook with 225 filmmaker participants and 18,000 views, 43 live Q&As with feature filmmakers, 8 workshops and panels, and 5 music events. The WHFF Virtual screening series builds on this new presentation format. Screening events are hosted online for a four-day viewing period and will usually include a live Q&A or discussion with filmmakers scheduled virtually during the viewing period. The selections include films from the WHFF, as well as independent films curated specifically for the series. The series is part of an effort by the WHFF to offer year-round independent film programming to supplement the annual summer festival. Ticket prices are $14 per person, $12, for WHFF members, and $20 per household, $17 for members and are on sale in advance at www.woodsholefilmfestival.org. Ticket purchasers will receive a custom link to view the film at home or on their mobile devices and will have 48 hours to complete watching the film (ending at 11:59 p.m., on April 11, 2021), once they begin playing it. For the best community viewing experience, we recommend watching the film at 5:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, April 10, and then joining WHFF Executive Director Judy Laster and the filmmakers, for the Q&A on Zoom or Facebook Live at 7:00 p.m. The film will be available to watch between Thursday, April 8 at 8 a.m., and Sunday, April 11 at midnight. If you purchase a ticket in advance, you will receive an activation link to view the film via e-mail on Thursday morning, April 8. If you purchase a ticket on or after April 8, you will receive a watch link immediately after your order confirmation. A free ticket to the virtual Q&A will be made available when you purchase your ticket. You will receive a separate access link for the Q&A via email approximately one hour before the start of the event. Once you start playing the film, you will have 48 hours to finish watching, or until midnight on Sunday, April 11, whichever comes first.
