Woods Hole Black History Month Author Event: Exploring Race & Redemption Through Fiction

Ousmane K. Power-Green, Author
Ousmane K. Power-Greene is the Program Director of Africana Studies and an Associate Professor of History at Clark University and the author of Against Wind and Tide: The African American Struggle Against the Colonization Movement and The Confessions of Matthew Strong. His writing appears in The Harlem Renaissance Revisited: Politics, Arts, and Letters and has been featured on All Things Considered, C-SPAN Book TV, and NPR’s history podcast Throughline.  A book signing will follow the lecture.

Woods Hole Black History Month events are sponsored by the Marine Biological Laboratory, the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, the National Marine Fisheries Service, the U.S. Geological Survey, Woods Hole Science Center, the Woodwell Climate Research Center, Sea Education Association, and Falmouth Academy. All events are free and open to the public. This event will be held at Falmouth Academy, Simons Center for the Arts
