The “Dinner & A Movie” year-round series continues on Saturday, October 3, 2026, with the newly re-released feature documentary THE AIRWAVES BELONGED TO THE PEOPLE: WBCN AND THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION by Bill Lichtenstein. The amazing, untold story of the radical underground radio station WBCN-FM, set against the dazzling and profound social, political, and cultural changes that took place in Boston and nationally during the late-1960s and early-70s. Told through the actual sights, sounds, and stories of a compelling cast of characters who connected through the radio station, exploding music and countercultural scenes, militant anti-war activism, civil rights struggles, and the emerging women’s and LGBTQ-liberation movements. It’s “the incredible, true story of how a radio station, politics, and rock ‘n’ roll changed everything.” Dinner & A Movie is a program of the winter/spring Film Series, twice-monthly in-person screenings of independent film from September 2026 through June 2027. The screenings will be held in the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s Redfield Auditorium, located at 45 Water Street, Woods Hole. The film begins at 7 pm. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $18, $12 for members and $10 student/military $10. Tickets are on sale in advance at www.woodsholefilmfestival.org and at the door if they are not sold out in advance. Before the screening light snacks will be available from 5-6:15 p.m. at Masterson Made, 89 Water Street, Woods Hole. Ticketholders may receive a discount on the meal portion of dinner at the Quahog Republic Leeside Pub, 29 Railroad Ave, Woods Hole. Ticketholders make reservations directly with the restaurant.
