The Woods Hole Film Festival’s year-round Dinner & A Movie series continues Saturday, October 17, with BEYOND THE DUPLEX PLANET, a new feature documentary by Emmy-winning, Grammy-nominated filmmaker Beth Harrington. In 1979, fresh out of art school, David Greenberger took a job as activities director at the Duplex Nursing Home in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. Instead of conducting conventional oral-history interviews, Greenberger asked the residents unexpected questions designed to spark imagination and conversation. Dinner & A Movie is part of the Woods Hole Film Festival’s year-round Winter/Spring Film Series, presenting twice-monthly independent films from September 2026 through June 2027. The October 17 screening will take place at 7 p.m. at Redfield Auditorium, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, 45 Water Street, Woods Hole. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets: $18 general admission; $12 WHFF members; $10 students and military. Tickets are available in advance at www.woodsholefilmfestival.org and at the door, subject to availability. As part of the Dinner & A Movie program, light snacks will be available from 5–6:15 p.m. at Masterson Made, 89 Water Street, Woods Hole. Ticket holders may also receive a discount on the meal portion of dinner at Quahog Republic Leeside Pub, 29 Railroad Avenue, Woods Hole.
