Family Fun

April 14, 2017

During a school field trip to WHOI’s Ocean Science Exhibit Center, Paul Jakuba gets a boost from his teacher Shaylee Dutra, to get a better look at giant tube worms, crabs and an octopus featured in the deep-sea hydrothermal vent exhibit. The center opens for the season on April 17 and will offer “Fun and Films for Families” as part of school vacation week. In addition to watching films, visitors can try their hands at water-based science activities, hear a reading of “A Fish Out of Water,” and talk with an Alvin pilot following a special screening of “Wild Kratts: Creatures of the Deep Sea.” The films are free, but reservations are recommended.(Photo by Erin Koenig, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution)
