WHOI Goes to Washington

David Gallo, Director of Special Projects at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, addressed members of the U.S. House of Representatives at a reception to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the HOV Alvin. He joined other WHOI scientists in discussions with lawmakers about the importance ocean science research and engineering to our economy and environment. Gallo was among six recipients awarded for the Lowell Thomas medal for “imagination in exploration” by The Explorers Club in California on October 11.(Photo by Danielle Fino, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution)
