Sharon L. Hunt

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution announces with great sorrow the unexpected death September 4, 2001, of Sharon L. (Edmed) Hunt of East Falmouth at her home. She was 53.

Sharon grew up on Cape Cod and graduated from Bourne High School in 1965. She worked at the Institution for many years, most recently as a Senior Staff Assistant in the Port Office. Sharon was active with the Business and Professional Women’s Organization and was a former member of the Falmouth Theatre Guild. She also enjoyed doing needlepoint.

She is survived by two daughters, Tara Civitarese of Centerville, MA, and Tracy Wilson of West Falmouth, MA; her mother, Freda Edmed of Falmouth, MA; one sister, Carolyn S.Hampton of Cataumet, MA; three grandchildren and one niece.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 7, in the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth, MA. Burial is private. Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
