Ronald E. Woods

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution has received word of the death November 24, 2001, of retiree Ronald E. Woods of East Falmouth after a brief illness. He was 66.

Ron started at the Institution as a security guard in 1975. He was promoted to Assistant Security Guard Supervisor in 1977 and continued in that position until his retirement in 1994

He was the husband of Beverly A. (Netto) Woods for 44 years. In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Ronald E. Woods Jr. of East Falmouth; a daughter, Judith E. Woods of Vero Beach, Florida; a brother, Robert F. Woods of Kenosha, Wisconsin; two sisters, Ruth Ann Brockhaus of Hustisford, Wisconsin, and Helen Haluzak of Hartford, Wisconsin; two grandsons, Zachery Woods and Jacob Woods; a granddaughter, Crystal Smoak; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be said on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Church, Route 28, East Falmouth. Burial wil be private in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
