Roger Joseph Dube
The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution has received word of the death October 16, 2002, of retiree Roger Joseph Dube at his home in Lake City, Florida, after a brief illness. He was 74.
Roger Dube was born February 10, 1928, in Lowell, MA, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He began working at the Institution in June 1981 as a cook and steward aboard Atlantis II, later serving aboard Oceanus and Knorr as both first cook and steward. Much of his career at the Institution was spent working aboard Knorr through the 1980s, with his last trip in late 1990. He retired in December 1990.
Roger was a licensed airplane pilot and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two daughters, Noelle Martin of Fort Lee, VA, and Michelle Dube of Eastham, MA; a sister, Lillian Allard of lake City, FL; and one grandchild.
