David D. Scott

The Wood Hole Oceanographic Institution has received word of the death of retiree David D. Scott on August 10, in San Francisco.  He was 99.

David was born on February 6, in Bristol, South Dakota. He received a B.S. in Naval Science from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis in 1932, and was a Commissioned Officer in the Navy from 1928-1961.

David started at WHOI in 1961 as an Administrative Assistant to Paul Fye. In December of 1961, he became Assistant Director for Administration and remained in that position until his retirement in 1976.
