Alex Kinsella, Postdoctoral Investigator, joins WHOI’s PO Department.  Alex earned his PhD in Physics from UC Santa Barbara.  His research interests are Indian monsoon variability, air-sea interaction, nutrient cycling and the biological pump as well as Southern Ocean dynamics.  Currently, Alex is working with Amala Mahadevan to study the role of air-sea interaction in the development and propagation of intraseasonal monsoon oscillations over the Bay of Bengal.  In his free time, Alex likes to go birding and botanizing, work in his garden, and practice his handstands.  Photo provided by Alex Kinsella.
