Postdoctoral Investigator Shawn Wang joins WHOI’s PO Department. Shawn earned his PhD from the MIT-WHOI Joint Program in Oceanography. Shawn’s research interests are tropical climate variability, hydrological extremes, data assimilation and paleoclimate. He is currently working with Caroline Ummenhofer and Delia Oppo on understanding ocean-atmosphere variability in the Indo-Pacific over the past two millennia using paleoclimate archives and climate models.

In his free time, Shawn enjoys playing racquet sports, skiing, biking and video games.
