Postdoctoral Investigator Jilian Xiong joins WHOI’s PO Department. Jilian earned her PhD from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science at William & Mary University. Her research interests are estuarine and coastal circulations, physical-biological/biogeochemical interactions (e.g., hypoxia, harmful algal blooms, environmental DNA, multi-tracer transport) and integration of observations with numerical models. Currently, Jilian is working with Ke Chen, Gordon Zhang and Greg Britten on the multi-scale ocean physical processes and their roles in regulating biogeochemical cycling, with a focus on the Northwest Atlantic Ocean.
In her free time, Jilian enjoys hiking, jogging and road trips.
