Postdoctoral Investigator Ciara Pimms joins WHOI’s PO Department. Ciara earned her PhD in Southern Ocean Ventilation: Connection to dynamic tracers and heat uptake, from the University of Liverpool, UK. Ciara’s research interests include high latitude environments, ocean modeling and climate change. Ciara is working with Mike Spall on idealized modeling of the East Greenland Current and looking at how water mass transformation changes under different climate forcing scenarios.

In her free time, Ciara enjoys swimming, sailing, walking and cooking. She recently started embroidery.
