Ivenis Pita, Postdoctoral Investigator, joins WHOI’s PO Department. Ivenis earned his PhD in Meteorology and Physical Oceanography from the Rosenstiel School, University of Miami. Ivenis’ research interests include Large-scale Ocean Circulation, Observational Oceanography, and Ventilation Pathways. He is currently working with Isabela Le Bras to investigate ventilation pathways in the subpolar North Atlantic and understand how oxygen is transported into the deep ocean.

In his free time, Ivenis enjoys playing team sports such as soccer and volleyball. He also likes to hike and would love to travel across the country in a camper van.
