Postdoctoral Investigator Yang Yu joins WHOI’s PO Department. Yang earned his PhD in Environmental Science from Ocean University of China. His research interests include Regional Earth System Modeling (developing high-resolution regional coupled models to investigate interactions among the atmosphere, ocean, land surface, and other Earth system components); Coastal Oceanography; Physical-Biogeochemical Interactions; Hurricanes; ENSO; Severe Weather; Anthropogenic Impacts on Local Meteorology, Air Quality and Climate. He is currently working with Ke Chen to study the impacts of offshore wind farms on coastal circulation and biogeochemical processes.

In his free time, Yang loves traveling, hiking, and experiencing the beauty of nature through outdoor adventures.
