Robert McDevitt

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution announces with great sorrow the death of retiree Robert McDevitt on January 19, 2016, in Western, Massachusetts.  He was 69.

Robert began working at WHOI in 1977 as a research assistant in the Physical Oceanography Department under Terry Joyce.  In 1980, he was reclassified to a research assistant – electronics II under Mike McCartney.  In 1983, he was promoted to research associate.  He retired in 1987.

He is survived by his son Robert M. McDevitt, and brother Edward McDevitt.  No funeral services are planned.
