It's a Magic Planet

It’s a Magic Planet

February 13, 2009

WHOI Ocean Science Exhibit Center Manager Kathy Patterson uses the Magic Planet  projection system to demonstrate global ocean processes to the attendees of the Woods Hole Science and Technology Education Partnership (WHSTEP).  The Magic Planet, which helps people to better understand dynamic global systems such as ocean currents, sea level rise, climate and geological events, was on loan to the USGS Gosnold Lab where the meeting was held. Both WHOI and USGS plan to highlight their science on the Magic Planet and offer those modules to museums and science centers across the country. Through most of the year, visitors can explore the Magic Planet at the WHOI Information Office in the Woods Hole Village.
