WOODS HOLE FILM FESTIVAL

September 20 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Woods Hole Film Festival Dinner & A Movie year-round series kicks off on Saturday, September 20, 2025, with the feature documentary REBEL WITH A CLAUSE by Brandt Johnson. One fall day, Ellen Jovin set up a folding table on a Manhattan sidewalk with a homemade sign that said, “Grammar Table.” Right away, passersby began excitedly asking questions, telling stories, and filing complaints. What happened next is the stuff of grammar legend. Ellen and her filmmaker husband, Brandt Johnson, took the table on the road, visiting all 50 states as Brandt shot the grammar action. People from every imaginable background visited the table to share a laugh, settle disputes, and talk about their grammar insecurities. These conversations took place in small towns and big cities, by bookstores and coffee shops, on beaches and mountainsides. But this story transcends grammar. It’s the story of an epic quest in a divided time to bring us closer together. In a time of social and political division, the Grammar Table is a place of unity and connection. The conversations at the table help answer the question “How can we all get along?” Come for the grammar. Stay for the humanity. Dinner & A Movie is a program of the Winter/Spring Film Series, twice-monthly in-person screenings of independent film from September 2025 through June 2026. The screenings will be held in the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution’s Redfield Auditorium, located at 45 Water Street, Woods Hole. The film begins at 7 pm. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $18, $12 for members, and $10 student/military $10. Tickets are on sale in advance at www.woodsholefilmfestival.org and at the door if they are not sold out in advance. Before the screening, ticketholders may receive a discount on the meal portion of dinner at the Captain Kidd Restaurant and Bar, 77 Water Street, Woods Hole, and Quahog Republic Leeside Pub, 29 Railroad Ave, Woods Hole.
