Upcoming Talk “Two Decades of Battling Human Trafficking and Protecting At-Risk Children Alongside Survivors

September 24 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

On Wednesday, September 24, WHOI WoGeMs and the Falmouth Rotary Club are hosting a talk by Sarah Symons and Anjali Tamang titled “Two Decades of Battling Human Trafficking and Protecting At-Risk Children Alongside Survivors.” The talk will be held at 5:30 p.m. in Redfield Auditorium, followed by an informal reception in Redfield Lobby.  Anjali will share the inspirational story of her rescue after being trafficked at age 12 and enslaved in a brothel for three years. Her determination to help other girls and women like her inspired her to found a school and NGO in her rural Nepal community. Sarah is founder of U.S. based “Her Future Coalition” (formerly Made by Survivors) and works to support Anjali’s organization and helps thousands of other survivors and at-risk girls in India, Nepal, and Kenya. For many years, WHOl employees, past and present, and Falmouth Rotarians have spearheaded local support for anti-trafficking through these programs. This talk is open to everyone!
