Prospective Graduate Students Students interesting in conducting Ph.D. research in my laboratory should apply to the WHOI/MIT Joint Program. My research spans the fields of Biological Oceanography and Marine Chemistry, and students should apply to the degree program that best suits their research interests (or you can apply to both programs). Please be aware that admission into the Joint Program is very competitive. You are welcome to contact me directly to discuss your research interests and application.
Prospective Post-docs WHOI is an ideal environment to conduct post-doctoral research. The institution provides a number of career and research support services, and we are frequently ranked as one of the best places to work as a post-doc. If you would like to conduct post-doc research in the lab, plan on applying to the WHOI Postdoctoral Scholar program. WHOI also offers other types of postdoctoral appointments.
Undergraduate Students Undergraduate students, and students between graduate and undergraduate degree programs are encouraged to contact me about short (3-6 month period) appointments in the laboratory. I prefer that students have some background in microbiology, molecular biology, or bioinformatics/computer science.
