Research Interests
Ocean mixing processes; boundary layer measurements and modeling; sediment/fluid interaction; oceanographic instrumentation.
Research Statement
My office work involves conferences, symposia, and workshops for OES/IEEE; soliciting abstracts, reviewing them, organizing the meetings, and publishing the papers. I present about four papers a year on current measurments at these myself. I also continue to develop current measuring instrumentation and occasionally deploy my instruments for local water observations.
Personal Statement
I enjoy travel with my wife, Isabelle, sailing on Shadowfax, my 50 year old wooden sloop, and gardening. At home I have two businesses: Oceanographic Instrument Systems making bottom finder pingers, acoustic transponders, and acoustic command releases; and Nobska Development making and selling acoustic current meters.
