A Cooperative Institute for the North Atlantic Region
The mission of CINAR is to conduct and coordinate cutting-edge research engaging both NOAA and academic scientists to enable informed decisions by NOAA for sustainable and beneficial management of the northwestern Atlantic shelf ecosystem.

Center for Ocean, Seafloor and Marine Observing Systems
COSMOS provides administrative, management and systems engineering oversight of large observatory and observing systems projects underway at WHOI.

Cooperative Institute for Climate and Ocean ResearchWHOI-NOAA CICOR
Cooperative Institute for Climate and Ocean Research
CICOR provides a framework at WHOI for coordinating NOAA-funded research, for building ties between WHOI investigators and colleagues at NOAA laboratories, and for developing cooperative NOAA-funded research at academic institutions in the northeastern United States.

Marine Policy CenterMarine Policy Center
The Marine Policy Center (MPC) conducts social scientific research that integrates economics, policy analysis, and law with the Institution’s basic research in ocean sciences.

Woods Hole Center for Oceans & Human Health
The mission of the Woods Hole Center for Oceans & Human Health is to improve the public health through enhanced understanding of how oceanic processes affect the distribution and persistence of human pathogens and toxin producing organisms.

WHOI Marine Mammal CenterWHOI Marine Mammal Center
The oceans face an increased number of anthropogenic impacts on marine mammals and other marine life. There are growing demands to bring together scientific expertise, resources and technology innovation to address the effects of human activities on marine mammals and the ecosystems on which they depend. The Marine Mammal Center at WHOI uses comprehensive basic research complemented by cutting-edge technology to solve major scientific and conservation problems.
