Throughout the year the International Committe will hold events that encourage visiting internationals, to both WHOI and MBL, to gather in a relaxed and informal setting. These events are usually social in nature and are an excellent way to meet other internationals. The International Committee has established a relationship with members of the local community, known as Community Helpers, who are willing to aid in the needs of an international visitor. For those visitors who need assistance aquainting themselves with the area, help getting around locally, or even help learning English, a Community Helper might be a worthwhile consideration. The International Committee organizes an annual tax workshop to aid in the filing of necessary tax forms. The Committee also run a short term bicycle loan program.
