Jeff Donnelly
Jeff Donnelly grew up in Massachusetts and has spent much  of his life in New England. He earned a bachelor’s degree in earth science from the University of Massachusetts, a master’s in coastal and watershed systems from Yale University, and a doctorate in coastal geology from Brown University. Much of his work involves piecing together New England’s climate in the recent past. “Why not work close to home on a system you are familiar with?” he said. His overarching goal is to understand how changes in the climate system have altered terrestrial and coastal systems, and vice versa, and to improve our ability to project how coastal landforms and embayments will respond to future changes. From 2004-2006, Donnelly was a joint fellow of the Coastal Ocean Institute and the Ocean and Climate Change Institute at WHOI.
