Jason II/Medea is a two body ROV system, with Medea serving as a depressor weight and wide area survey vehicle linked to Jason II, which functions as a precision multi-sensory imaging and sampling platform. Both Medea and Jason II are designed to operate to a depth of 6,500 meters; they can be operated from a variety of research or commercial vessels. Jason II is connected to Medea by a neutrally buoyant tether 0.84" in diameter, and approximately 35 meters long. |
