Photo Gallery: Mechanical Testing of Bone
The material properties of right whale bone will be determined via uniaxial compression testing in collaboration with the Orthopedic Biomechanics Laboratory of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, MA. These data will define material property parameters vital to the finite element model (FEM) of a vessel-whale collision.
