Research Interests
My research primarily focuses on exploring coastal and marine sediment archives to recognize coastal and climate changes. Distinguishing signatures of paleo-coastal hazard events including tsunamis, storms and floods is a major task of such studies. I employ multiple physical and chemical proxies to extract climate, fluvial and marine signals. Such studies facilitate coastal hazard mitigation and predicting future changes in climate and coastal environment. Studying soil and sediment geochemistry in terrestrial eco-systems and fluvial systems is another branch of my research.
